dear friends,

it was a lazy week on the Odd Preoccupation — the whole first half of the program is but a single track, which made my job extremely easy. luckily for you the listener, this track consists of 28 minutes of the most hilarious, surreal, quote-worthy audio comedy ever recorded: it’s the classic side How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You’re Not Anywhere At All, by the incomparable Firesign Theatre. that’s Part 1, an extra-long chunk of auditory goodness.

Part 2 is our weekly episode of Moon Over Morocco, the ongoing mystical adventures of Jack Flanders (among others.) this week is episode 3 in the series, created by ZBS Productions (lots of other great audio works available on their website as well.).

In Part 3, we highlight a few gems from Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, a theatrical production in which Chicago’s Neo-Futurists stage 30 plays in 60 minutes, each and every week. If you’re in Chicago, check ‘em out!

Part 4 of our show starts off with a little flamenco-influenced hip hop from Ojos De Brujo , a track called El Confort No Reconforta. that leads into a bunch of banter between myself and John Erler, host of the Elk Mating Ritual Show, which follows the Odd Preoccupation on Thursdays on KOOP Radio. in the midst of the banter, the Bassturd featuring MC Keef lets us know about the latest way to earn your street cred: Bling Ballz.
